Purpose

WELCOME TO THE KING-PIERCE COUNTY FARM BUREAU

The Farm Bureau is an independent and non-government association of farmers and ranchers.  Above all else we are an advocacy group of farm families working together to address the economic and social issues facing us.

Our policies are set every year by bonafide farmers who meet at local, state and national annual meetings to vote and establish our positions.  We are truly a grassroots organization.  In answering the question, “Who speaks for farmers?” the answer is clearly the Farm Bureau through our policy development process.

The Farm Bureau works for lower taxes, smaller government and greater economic opportunity for all citizens.  In recent years we have been a leading voice on private property rights; reform of the Growth Management Act to ensure that farmers are treated fairly and equitably; repeal of the B & O Tax; and, reform of the state workers’ compensation retrospective rating program to lower costs and return workers to the job when they’re ready.

The King-Pierce County Farm Bureau meets on the 3rd Monday of the month at 6:00 P.M.  We invite you to attend and become involved.  If you have any questions, please contact Cheryl Ouellette, President of the King-Pierce County Farm Bureau: e-mail - cherylthepiglady@hotmail.com or Secretary, Heidi Gaffney at e-mail heidi.gaffney@yahoo.com to get the location of our meetings.

What Margaret Mead said is true, “Never doubt that a few committed individuals can change the world.  Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has.”
