KING-PIERCE COUNTY FARM BUREAU SCHOLARSHIPS
2007
The time has come to get working on your applications! We were happy to grant three scholarships to students this past year. Here are the recipients for 2007:
1.) Kelli Oakes, Renton, WA, winner of a $750.00 scholarship award; she will attend WSU, in Pullman, WA.
2.) Melissa Komoto, Kent, WA, winner of a $750.00 scholarship award; she will attend the University of Washington and will study pre med.
3.) Samantha McBride, Hobart, WA, winner of the $1,000.00 Ag scholarship award; she will attend CWU in Ellensburg, WA and will study pre vet science.
This year we will be offering three college scholarships to attend any accredited college or university for King/Pierce County Farm Bureau families who have graduating high school seniors and currently enrolled college students.
One scholarship of $1000 is available to a student studying in any agricultural field and two $750 scholarships are available to students in any field of study.
Deadline for completed and returned applications is April 16, 2007. The evaluations for the county applicants will be the third week of April. Recipients will be notified by May 1.

In addition, the Washington Farm Bureau awards up to five $1,500 scholarships annually to college students who are enrolled in agriculture or an agriculture-related field of study at an accredited college or university. Applicants must have completed at least one year of secondary education, and must be Farm Bureau members or dependents of a Farm Bureau member family.
Applications must be returned to the member’s county Farm Bureau, which will select one application to be forwarded by July 10 to the Washington Farm Bureau scholarship committ
